US will cut off aid to Central American countries over asylum seekers

  • State will cut aid to El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala
  • Administration seeks to step up removals at southern border

The US is cutting off aid to El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras, the state department said on Saturday, a day after President Donald Trump blasted the countries for sending migrants north.
